She saw him first
and then gave an ear to lend.
He told her that he was alone in his walk
And that all he needed was a friend.
That was the beginning
of several small lies.
Ones that he had told himself
Ones that he needed to simply survive.
No one understood him,
or so he had said.
Though she understood him.
Her attention gave food to his death and it fed.
A secret trip,
one will never know.
Though lies are always found out
Even though no one was ever told.
It bred life into a fantasy
For both of them and grew.
Though both claimed there was nothing romantically.
But then she outed him and then everyone knew.
More lies to base the future on.
For she’s thinking with her feelings, her heart
Failing to see that lies are a song
That pulls the heart apart.
“No one understands me, no one trusts me.”
Was what he had claimed.
And it really seemed he was alone, she could see
And then to her he remained.
Again.. another lie, little did she know
This isolation he lived
Was one created,
One that he owned.
“Exiled,” he cried
And she felt for him
Once again this proved that
She was his only true friend.
Choices were made,
Though he claims they were not his.
If she only knew what really made him cave.
Maybe a second thought she would give.
She thinks she is different
If only she could know
She is one of many
The deception can only grow.
She lives in a world
No one can envy her of.
Lies add up and break
What one thought was love
I am breathless..
as one would be
watching the sunset of a summer’s night
The crescendo of a wedding song
As the bride comes in sight
I am breathless..
The sight of You makes my knees weak
My heart does swoon and I sway
The sight of You every morning of every day…
I am breathless
I am breathless..
When You speak to me
Ever so clearly and unmistakably
Truths smiting out the lies
Comforting me in all the pain when it arrives
I am breathless..
to completely know
All creation is yours alone
My day is never empty
Nor is my cup ever low
I am breathless..
for my King
You brought me alive from death
“I am breathless,” I sing
I lean on You to catch my breath

“One by one they all fall down,” he said.
She pondered at the meaning of what was to lie ahead
and from the mind flowed
Perhaps a poem, song or prose:
One by one they all fell down.
Who will pick them up if no one heard the sound?
One longs to lay there decrepit and dead
Another reaches out for help while holding their head.
The others fell from the impact that took
The first two from their feet to the ground from where it shook.
The first laughed and cried
The second felt like they had just died
Again the others struggle to get up
From the place from where the first two pinned them, they are stuck.
One by one they all fall down
The second still reaches for anyone around.
The first still thinking it was comfortable and just might
be relieved from the pressure of life upright.
The sound was clear at first it was two words.
So loud and yet so private that only the second one heard
The words spoken, “be still,” as it was said.
Then several more came floating behind as it fed
“get up and be still” the second one pondered
What was the meaning, was thought as the others started to wander.
Knowing the voice that was speaking to the heart
Getting up and standing still was the first start.
One by one they all fell down.
Who will be the one left on the ground?
